New deep-sea programme launched

The International Network for Scientific Investigations of Deep-Sea Ecosystems (INDEEP) aims to develop and synthesise our understanding of deep-sea global biodiversity and functioning and provide a framework to bridge the gap between scientific results and society to aid in the formation of sustainable management strategies.

First Census of Marine Life launched October 2010

Marking the end of the Census of Marine Life a 64-page report (Highlights of a Decade of Discovery) has been launched that describes some of the scientific highlights of the ten years of exploration, research and analysis undertaken by Census of Marine Life scientists. The report is available in English and Japanese, with a summary report available in 10 additional languages.
