Data Analysis Working Group
The aim of the DAWG was to evaluate and review available data and data analysis techniques. A priority of the DAWG was the identification and accession of "missing" data. Throughout 2006 - 2010 the DAWG held 7 meetings addressing a range of tasks and scientific questions. At the final DAWG meeting (June 2010) the group voted to continue to operate and will seek funds to support future activities. The DAWG will also continue to work with and advise bodies such as the Global Ocean Biodiversity Initiative (GOBI).
See side bar for further information on DAWG initiatives.
The DAWG was facilitated by Ashley Rowden (NIWA). Core members of the CenSeam DAWG were Amy Baco-Taylor (Florida State University), Malcolm Clark (NIWA); Alex Rogers (University of Oxford), Thomas Schlacher (University of the Sunshine Coast) Karen Stocks (University of California, San Diego), Derek Tittensor (International Union for Conservation of Nature; formerly Dalhousie Univeristy), Tim O’Hara (Museum Victoria). However, many other collaborators joined in DAWG activities.
