Packing, cleaning, and more packing

Today has been a manic day of packing samples and lab equipment, and cleaning workspaces. The work was not made easier by the weather: Drake Passage lived more up to its characteristic nature today with large, rolling waves and strong winds. The sun came out later in the day and treated those (who hadn’t managed to bury themselves in a cardboard box somewhere) with a beautiful sunset.

A brief break from the frantic clearing came in the form of a tour of the powerhouse of the ship, the engine room, to see the water plant, generators and engines.
