Corals and Climate in the Southern Ocean. The RV NB Palmer Expedition to the Drake Passage and Scotia Sea

The RV Nathaniel B Palmer, the icebreaker for the US Antarctic Program is headed south to investigate deep-water corals living on seamounts and ridges in the Drake Passage and Scotia Sea. This voyage will depart from Punta Arenas (Chile) on the 18th April and return back on the 25rd May.

Join scientists from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and the University of Hawaii as they head into the Southern Ocean to explore the corals that live in this extreme envrionment and the climate secrets these corals hold.
