I started in 1996 and was steward for 4 years. Then I went on land for 2 years, 1 of which was working in a kitchen and the other doing my City and Guilds cooking certificate. I then returned to Tangaroa as chief cook in 2002.

What do you enjoy the most?

Presenting healthy, nutritious meals with plenty of variety.

What’s the least enjoyable aspect of your work?

When the weather is really rough for days on end.

Do you get seasick? Any tips for not getting ill?

No.

What is your favourite memory from working on the ship?

When we went to New Caledonia, Noumea on the ship, amazing trip!

What do you do when off shift, and in your spare time at home?

On board I like to watch DVDs and read. On land I enjoy walking, bike riding, going to the movies, dining out, swimming, doing activities with my niece and catching up with family and friends.
