Around 7 or 8 months

What is your job?

Deckhand

What does a typical day involve?

It depends on the type of trip that we are doing at the time. All trips vary but we shoot and haul different types of equipment and help out the science team when they need it. As well as general maintainance.

What do you enjoy the most?

Working with Captain Roger and his crew and being able to work on the Tangaroa

Whats the least enjoyable aspect of your work?

Fishing trips are okay, but not as enjoyable as all the other types of work that the ship does

Do you get seasick? Any tips for not getting ill?

No I don’t, I have heard that ginger is really good but I can’t really say

What is your favourite memory from working on the ship?

I have a lot of favourite memories working on this ship

What do you do when not working?

Play games on the Xbox, watch DVDs, relax and catch up on sleep when I am onboard the ship. When I am on land I do work around the house, relax, visit friends and family, go for drives in the car and spend time with my girlfriend
