Aims of the voyage to the South Hikurangi Margin

Aims of the voyage to the South Hikurangi Margin

The aims of the voyage are:

(1) To sample four deep-sea habitats on the Southern Hikurangi margin such that we can make extensive and robust comparisons of their biodiversity;

(2) Collect samples of fauna and information that can be used for related studies (e.g. population genetics, dietary and stable isotope studies) designed to assess the vulnerability of deep-sea communities to anthropogenic disturbance.
